Enjoy fauna
The Mont Saint-Hilaire Biosphere Reserve hosts a wide variety of fauna. There are around 800 species of butterflies, 8 species of frogs, 4 species of salamanders, 2 species of snakes, 2 species of turtles, and 200 species of birds, 80% of which nest on the mountain. There are also around thirty species of mammals (raccoons, deer, porcupines, foxes, etc.). The Richelieu River is home to dozens of fish species, including the copper redhorse, a fish that is found nowhere else in the world.
